This striped swim brief is a standout — the red, blue, white, and yellow color-blocking is vibrant without looking loud, and it holds up beautifully in direct sun. I was hesitant about picking these up. Not due to anything other than that I typically run trunks / shorts for my swim gear. I am happy that I made the purchase.

These swim briefs are as promised. They fit true to size - not tight and not loose. The rise - leg and waist - is perfect. Waist is low enough so that any tan lines disappear below the pant or shorts I am wearing. Legs are low enough that I feel covered still while allowing the sun to hit right. The pouch is somewhat compressed, but I find that is actually a plus when I am outside and It does not create discomfort. And straight up, I would classify myself as average in the size department, but these are actually quite flattering while not screaming “look at me.”

The overall fabric feel is very comfortable Not too soft but not scratchy at all. It’s clearly designed to be worn in or around water.

I am using these almost exclusively for laying out in the sun, which does involve a dip in the pool to cool down. For me, the black holds up well here as it’s dark enough to not go see through. I don’t think that I would recommend a light color, but that’s really a personal preference

Overall, very much converted to the idea of a swim brief. While I don’t think that I will be going out to replace my entire swim wardrobe, I definitely will continue to keep these in high rotation for the pool and will replace them with another pair when they start to show age.
